Our History

From inception in 2013 to an ambitious project portfolio

Founded in 2013, Energy Resources Senegal (ERS) was born from the desire to actively contribute to the development of the energy sector in Senegal and West Africa.

From its very beginning, the company positioned itself as a committed player in the production and management of energy projects, with a strong focus on renewable energy. Through structuring projects such as the Kahone solar power plant, ERS has demonstrated its expertise and its ability to address today's energy challenges.

Over the years, ERS has consolidated its presence and expanded its activities, with the ambition of contributing sustainably to the transformation of the regional energy landscape.

2013

Foundation of Energy Resources Senegal SA with the vision of developing renewable energy projects in Senegal. Signing of the power purchase agreement for the Kahone plant with SENELEC.

2016

Launch of the Kahone solar power plant development. First institutional and technical partnerships established.

2018

Commissioning of the Kahone solar power plant (20 MWp).

2019

Creation of the subsidiary Teranga Niakhar Storage SA. Start of the combined solar and storage project — a new technology in West Africa.

2026

Construction year for the Teranga Niakhar Storage project (30 MWp + BESS 15 MW / 45 MWh). On course for the 500 MW target by 2030.
